Transient Film Exchange is an award winning Community Interest Company based at the Riverside Studios in London. Founded by film-making brothers Ash & Naeem Mahmood in 2001 after winning the Prince's Trust Millennium Award, it enables young people to express themselves by utilising film as a medium.
Transient Film Exchange works alongside established media organisations and youth agencies developing new talent that produces highly innovative independent cinema whose themes are often challenging. The films have been broadcast on the BBC and ITV and showcased at various film festivals.
"The Transient Film Exchange is a very important project. I am greatly impressed by the quality of the films, the fact that they are made by young people, and the values of the organisation. I congratulate Ash and Naeem Mahmood for their energy and enthusiasm for filmmaking and for using their talents to give young people a voice through the medium of film. I wish the Exchange every success in the future."
Nicky Gavron, Deputy Mayor of London
